Manoao, Manoao

The genus contains a single species, M. colensoi , which is endemic to New Zealand, where it is known by its Mori name, Manoao , or as silver pine, Westland pine, or white silver pine. Before 1996 it was classified in genus Dacrydium or Lagarostrobos , but has recently been recognized as a distinct genus; many botanists still treat it in Lagarostrobos on the basis that it is not genetically distinct from that genus.
